This happens to me a lot! My eyelids are really oily and my eyes water easily. Sometimes I yawn and then after that my eyes are already super watery. UGH. I really hate it when that happens. I’ve tried various eyeliners. So far here are the methods that work for me, more often than not. At least I am pretty sure they work for me when draw lines near my upper lashline. But note that these sometimes fail on me when I don’t blink away my tears fast enough or when I don’t catch the tears from falling down right away.

Eye shadow as eyeliner
This is one thing I learned using right after I broke my Etude House Proof 10 eyeliner. My friends have shared this tip to me: Wet an eyeliner brush (or an eyebrow brush) using a damp piece of tissue. It’s not soaked, just wet, ok? Then dab it on your eyeshadow powder so you could get enough of it on the brush. Use that to line your eyes.

That lasts fairly long on my eyes. I went out on a date one afternoon and that’s what I did :) Just had a bit of trouble at the corners of my eyes because I couldn’t really control how watery my eyes get. But on the upper lash line, the black eyeshadow I used was quite ok. I didn’t even use a primer that time.

I use Etude House’s Petit Darling Eyes matte eyeshadow in charcoal and Marionnaud’s angled brush. Both are affordable and could be found in SM Makati’s Watson’s. I don’t remember how much the brush is, but it’s not expensive and it’s really useful even for those who use eyebrow kits.

If you want to be more certain about it lasting longer on your eyes, try using an eye primer like Etude House’s Proof 10 eye primer or something. :)

K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner 24h
This product is a pen-type liquid eyeliner. Shimmerjjang Andhie was the one who recommended K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner 24h to me. It was available locally via Ebay but it was around 900 pesos. Thankfully I saw it when I went to Singapore! It was commonly available in Watson’s.

I love this eyeliner because it is easy to use unlike most liquid eyeliners in bottle form. It’s literally like drawing on your lashline. The tip is fine so you don’t really have to worry about errors much or if you want fine lines. If you want thicker lines, just draw again or draw the line with a heavier hand. The eyeliner dries faster than most that I’ve tried. I don’t feel like such a failure when I use this product because of the ease of use!

Oh and even without an eye primer, this lasts on me for more than 10 hours! Sometimes it’s a little hard to remove though ~_~ I have yet to find the perfect eye makeup remover for this!

However, I think I should’ve gotten another variant of K-Palette. I might need the waterproof formula more. My watery eyes really end up smudging this on my lower lash line.

Catching your tears before they fall
When my eyes go watery, I prepare a tissue right away. I’ve seen my girl friends do this before and I never really asked why. Haha. When I started putting on eyeliner, one of them told me that it’s what helps them when they have watery eyes or when they cry. My sister mentioned having to blink fast enough that the tears don’t end up ruining your eyeliner. I wish that when I yawn, there’s little water but to be honest, there’s quite a lot :( That’s why I now really really make sure I have tissue all the time. Sometimes, having to deal with watery eyes while on my work station is quite annoying. Or when traveling, that is. But yeah, at least I don’t have raccoon eyes that way.

Do you have your own tips on how to deal with raccoon eyes?

Share them with me via Tumblr Ask or by posting a comment via Disqus. :) I’d really love to know. And if you don’t mind, I will blog about your tip/s! Have a great Sunday, everyone!

How long should you wait to throw your cosmetics out? It depends on the type of product.

For any eye products, if you get an eye infection it is HIGHLY recommended that you throw away all products and applicators that you used when you first started showing symptoms to prevent any further…

Her post regarding storing makeup is good, I think. Well, I am such a newbie that I don’t even know these things. XD

When in doubt, choose brown.

Don’t care for the intensity of black? Opt for a softer brown. The color can’t look unnatural on anyone; even the lightest skin tones have some amount of brown in them.

What to look for: Green eyed beauties may want browns with yellow undertones, those with blue…

Eyeliner tips that I think are useful. Reblogging so I remember them!
